As the purpose of this board should not be just about complaining, I thought I'd better bring this up. There's a section of The Film Programme where Neil Brand talks about the way music is used to enhance films, and this week he's talking about 'the reveal'. Towards the end of his piece (about 16:30 in), he's talking about the last part of 'The Railway Children', and as he describes the touching re-union of Jenny Agutter's character with her father (which he [almost] challenges people not to cry at), Brand chokes a little with emotion. I have a hunch that it might feature on Pick Of The Week. I have the same feeling whenever I read Oscar Wilde's 'The Selfish Giant' or 'The Happy Prince'. Or 'Watership Down'. Hell, lots of things... www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00x44q8/The_Film_Programme_07_01_2011(I thought I'd try and find links for the two short stories by Wilde, but I couldn't get the first one, so gave up. I did, however, find a Youtube version of an animation I haven't seen for 30 or more years which is just as tugging on the heartstrings: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUfm7fJ5Dr8&feature=related)
