I've never listened to Danny Baker on the radio, largely because jingly radio is not my thing, being still wedded to R4 despite considerable aversion to ever more of what they dish out these days. I know him mostly from the NME days, and from the occasional times I would hear him being interviewed about something, I thought he was a bit full of himself.
I have no problem believing that he is a very popular DJ, though, and certainly way, way above Moylsey and Evansy, who are definitely more self-indulgent. Danny Baker's 'rant' may have been seen as similar, but I couldn't help feel they were 'true words' being spoke. So, more power to your elbow, Mister Baker.
